According to an online story by Joan Barron in the Casper-Star Tribune, the state of Wyoming is appealing a ruling that helium gas produced by ExxonMobil at its LaBarge well field is not taxable.

The state is appealing a December 5 bench ruling that granted summary judgment to ExxonMobil and ruled that county ad valorem and state severance taxes do not apply to the helium production on federal lands in Sublette County.
