Scam Alert – Impersonating Law Enforcement

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) wants to alert the public about receiving multiple reports on Wednesday, April 22nd of a scam targeting local businesses.
The caller claims to be from the Sheriff’s Office, but does not identify themselves. They say there is a legal matter and begin requesting personal information before the call abruptly disconnects.
This is a phishing scam designed to collect your personal information. The SCSO will never contact you by phone to request sensitive personal information.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately. To verify if a call might be legitimate, contact the SCSO directly at (307) 367-4378.
