Temperatures may reach 30 below zero!
Arctic cold front on the way, prepare for really COLD weather
December 6, 2005

(Pinedale) An arctic cold front sweeping through western and central Wyoming this week will cause temperatures to plummet to from -10 to -30 degrees over the next couple of days. Gusty winds to create dangerous wind chill factors, and blowing and drifting snow conditions that will limit visibility for driving.

Western and central Wyoming could see 1-3 inches of snowfall today. The northeast slopes of the Wind River Mountains could get 3-6 inches of snow. Wind chills will be from 10-20 below on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service warns that some areas may see temperatures as cold as 30 BELOW ZERO on Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will start to moderate by Thursday, with some valley and low-lying area fog possible Thursday though Saturday.

All in all, it’s going to be Wyoming weather at its most potent today and tomorrow. So be prepared if you will be working or playing outdoors, have outside animals, or need to travel the open highways. The good news is that things will start looking by the weekend with partly sunny skies returning and daytime temperatures climbing back up in the 20s.
