There are many fun events scheduled for the upcoming holiday season. Below is a list of some of the things happening for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season:

NOVEMBER:

Sunday, November 19: Big Piney Turkey Shoot
There will be a Turkey Shoot at noon at the Big Piney Rifle Range. Call 307-276-5463 for more information.

Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving): Turkey Trot 5000
Run, Walk or Trot the 3-mile course. All for fun and to burn off some calories before the big Thanksgiving Dinner. Meet at Craig and Ellen Sheppard’s house south of Pinedale, 22 Sportsman’s Loop. Registration starts at 8:30 am. The Trot starts at 9:00 am. Call 307-367-4654 for more information.

DECEMBER:

Friday, December 1: 13th Annual Wreath & Chocolate Auction
Fundraiser for the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale. All proceeds benefit the 2007 Museum programs and exhibits. For more information contact the Museum at 307-367-4101.

Saturday, December 2: Wind River Archers Archery Club 3rd Annual Christmas Benefit 3-D Shoot
8:00 am-5:00 pm at the Archery Range located upstairs in the Sublette County Ice Arena. Cost of the all day "Fun Shoot" is one unwrapped toy. All toys collected will be donated to the Pinedale Volunteer Fireman’s Toys for Tots toy drive. Food and refreshments will be provided by the Wind River Archery Club. This 3-D shoot is open to members and non-members, beginners and experts. Everyone is welcome, so bring the whole family, have some fun and help someone else have a Merry Christmas. Thursday-Saturday, December 7-9: Santa Claus is coming to Pinedale
Santa will be checking his list twice at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale. Get your child's picture taken with Santa. The library will be giving each child who visits Santa a special gift — a little Christmas book. Proceeds from the photos will go to the Pinedale High School chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). This year there will be story time for the kids while they are waiting to tell Santa their wishes. Santa’s schedule at the Library is: Thursday, December 7th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This day is mainly reserved for the preschools. Friday, December 8th, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Saturday, December 9th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Saturday, December 9: Sublette Chamber of Commerce "Mountain Man Christmas": Holiday Tree Lighting, Parade of Lights, Late-Nite Shopping
The Holiday Tree Lighting will take place at Wise Connections in Pinedale at 5:30 pm. Sweet Harmony will lead the group in caroling. We will also be roasting chestnuts and inviting many special guests to light the tree. The Mountain Man Christmas Parade will begin at 6:00 pm. This “Parade of Lights” will begin behind A-Z Hardware on the west end of Pinedale and travel east down Pine Street/Hwy 191 to the Faler’s parking lot. After the parade, many Pinedale businesses will be open for late-night holiday shopping. Businesses that are participating so far are: Cowboy Shop, EBR Venture Health Food Store, Great Outdoor Shop, Heritage Quilts and Fabric, Shoppe, Rock Rabbit, Spirits of the West, Sundance Motel & Coffee. The Pinedale Town Hall will also be open from 5-7 pm, with snacks and beverages.

Saturday, December 9: Kid's Christmas Party at the Library in Pinedale:
Come to the Sublette County Library in Pinedale after the Chamber Parade of Lights and join the staff for crafts, treats and holiday fun until 8:00 pm. Have your little ones make a special ornament to take home.

Sunday, December 10, Chamber of Commerce Parade of Homes:
The Chamber’s Parade of Homes will take place on Sunday, December 10th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The Tour will include area homes that have been decorated in the spirit of the holiday season. In addition to these homes, the tour will also include the winners of the Christmas Holiday Homes Awards sponsored by the Sage and Snow Garden Club. Maps will be available at the Sublette County Visitor Center in Pinedale showing where the homes are located. The Chamber Parade of Homes is sponsored by Pinedale Properties Real Estate.

Saturday & Sunday, December 16-17: Kids Christmas Shoppe:
The Kids Christmas Shoppe is for all elementary kids up through the fifth grade. Kids will be able to shop all day at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale. For more information, call Corrina Simmons at 307-367-8885 or 307-620-9009.

TOYS FOR TOTS & ANGEL TREE
Anyone who would like to donate toys for the Toys for Tots, call Randy Belton at 307-367-2289. If you would like to donate toys for the Angel Tree, call Barb Burns at 307-537-5888.
