Summer Fishing Report
Moderation of stream flows, bug hatches activated
by Mike Kaul, Two Rivers Emporium
July 17, 2012

We are starting to see moderation of flows in the many great streams we have in Sublette County.

The warm temperatures have activated bug hatches, and we are starting to see a profusion of grey drakes, yellow sallys, pale morning duns, caddis and midges. In addition, we have started to see an increase in the numbers of grass hoppers popping up in the fields, which is a great sign that surface action will be good for the rest of the summer.

The water conditions are good and the surface moisture has increased as we enter our monsoon season. This, coupled with a recent return to more normal lower surface temperatures, should keep our water flowing at fishable levels through September, and hopefully beyond.

Weather change rapidly in the Rocky Mountains, so it would be wise to contact us for the latest fishing conditions prior to making your trip plans. Contact us via telephone (1-800-329-4353) or e-mail 2rivers@wyoming.com.
