Low pressure is expected to develop southwest of Wyoming in the Great Basin late this week. This weather system has the potential to begin producing widespread snow in western Wyoming as early as Friday morning. Colder air in a more favorable upslope flow will develop east of the Continental Divide later Friday and Friday evening as a cold front drives south across the state.

The exact positioning and track of this system will determine those areas to receive the heaviest snow and the timing of that snow. At this time, widespread snowfall looks likely for the southern two-thirds of the state late Friday night through Saturday evening. Less snowfall would be expected over the northern-third of Wyoming during that same time-frame.
