Red Wolf Experiment May End

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has agreed to review the red wolf program in eastern North Carolina – at the request of state officials – raising the possibility that the nearly 30-year old program aimed at restoration of the species may end in failure. The entire wild population of red wolves is estimated to number no more than 110 animals.
