Torch Light Parade at White Pine New Year’s Eve
A favorite event at ski resorts around the nation is the traditional torch light parade snaking down the mountains around the country on New Year’s Eve. Skiers of all ages are invited to White Pine Ski Resort on Wednesday, December 31st to ride the Little Spirit lift at 5pm. Each skier will be given a torch to carry to light the way down. Parents and friends are welcome to come and watch from the deck at the lodge.

Wyoming Special Olympics fundraiser at White Pine Jan. 3rd
Rather than return unwanted Christmas gifts, White Pine is inviting folk to re-gift them to the 1st annual White Elephant Silent Auction to be held on Saturday, January 3rd at White Pine from 10am to 4pm. All proceeds will go towards lifts tickets and lunches for those participating in the Wyoming Special Olympics to be held at the ski resort on Thursday, January 22nd. It is anticipated that the winter event for those with disabilities will attract around 150 athletes from the southwest corner of the State participating in alpine, Nordic and snowshoe races.

Gifts can be dropped off at White Pine any time after Christmas. Once the lifts close for the day on Saturday, fundraising activities will continue into the evening with a disco commencing at 4PM playing favorites from the 60’s to the 90’s and beyond. Guests are invited to come "dressed to impress." Tickets for the disco are $15 available at White Pine.

Ladies Day Out on Fridays in January at White Pine
Also in January, White Pine ski instructor, May Huntley will be leading a series of Ladies Days Out on four Friday’s during the month (9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th). Open to both skiers and snowboarders, groups of similar levels and abilities will be put with an instructor for two 90 minute sessions each week. Lessons will commence at 10am for 90 minutes, lunch will be included before the afternoon lesson and a beverage to finish off the day. Participation in the Ladies Days Out is priced at $40/week for those with a season pass or an additional $42 for anyone requiring a lift ticket.

75th Anniversary Celebrations
On Saturday, January 24th, White Pine will be celebrating its 75th anniversary since the opening of the first cable tow in January 1940 by founder Sunny Korfanta. Local newspaper, the Pinedale Roundup reported that the opening celebrations attracted over 1,000 people from as far away as Kemmerer. To commemorate, White Pine has planned a buffet dinner with entertainment from local band "Six Foot Two." Starts at 6PM. Tickets for the event are limited and priced at $25.00 available from White Pine.
