It’s time for Treats for Troops again! Just in case you don’t know, Treats for Troops is a county-wide program in which members of Sublette County 4-H bake, package, and ship cookies to the military in November. Help from the community would be greatly appreciated. The more the merrier! We try to get the cookies to the troops by Christmas to bring them some holiday cheer.
This year we are continuing Cookie Wars. Cookie Wars is a state-wide competition where all of the county 4-H programs compete against each other to ship the most cookies. Sublette County 4-H is planning to hold our day to package cookies on November 23rd.
Of course before we can ship the cookies, we need some addresses. If you know someone in the military, PLEASE email or call the contacts below. We would love to send cookies to every military member that we can.
We ask every 4-H youth bring two dozen cookies. We would also appreciate anyone from the community that would like help by donating cookies. We like to send the troops homemade cookies, not store-bought if possible. Slightly under done chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal cookies work well because they don’t crumble as easily. The cookies can be left at the library in Big Piney and in Pinedale at the UW Extension office. Also, we would appreciate help packaging the cookies on November 23rd from 3:30 to 7:00. We will vacuum seal the cookies to keep them as fresh as possible. If you would like to help pay for the shipping, you can bring a donation then as well.
Remember what our military does for us. It is so easy to say thank you. Just bring some homemade cookies!
