Live Music at Sommers Homestead July 16
July 15, 2016

Attention History Buffs! The Sommers Homestead Living History Museum will be having live music on Saturday, July 16th. The band "Legends" will be playing old time country music from noon until 3PM. You’re invited to bring a picnic lunch and eat while the band plays.

The Sommers Homestead is a living history historic site that interprets early 1900s homestead history of the Upper Green River Valley. There’s lots of hands-on things for the kids to do at the Homestead including milking the cow, gathering eggs, finding ice in the ice house, washing clothes on the washboards, and roping, in addition to just exploring the fully restored old buildings and playing on the Homestead playground. The restored buildings include the 100-year old two-story log homestead house, ice house, underground cellar, shop, bunkhouse, meat house, and barn. There’s also a little gift shop.

The Homestead will be open Saturday from 10AM until 3PM, and is located 7.3 miles south on the East Green River Road. Admission is by donation. The Sommers Homestead is a cooperative project between the Sublette County Historical Society, Green River Valley Museum, and siblings Jonita and Albert Sommers.

Come on down on Saturday and spend a relaxing day at the Homestead and listen to great live music by Legends.
