Fast-track delisting
The Associated Press reports that Congressional members from Wyoming and the Midwest have asked House Speaker Paul Ryan for a fast floor vote on removing wolves in the Great Lakes region and Wyoming from the list of endangered species. To read the details, check out the links below.

Finland
"The wolf belongs in Finnish nature, just not in yards and gardens," said a Finnish hunter and wildlife photographer. "Many people say that hunters hate wolves, but we tolerate them and hope they don’t do any damage. It’s not hatred – it’s realism." For a detailed look at living with wolves in Finland, check out Patrick Barkham’s article in The Guardian, linked below.

Alaska
State wildlife officials in Alaska have rejected a proposal to prohibit wolf trapping and hunting in a buffer zone outside Denali National Park. NewsMiner writer Sam Friedman reports that the wolf hunt in the area usually results in the killing of about four wolves a year, yet "has long been an outsized issue" for state officials. Read Friedman’s piece (linked below) for a more detailed view.
